Dr. Sandra Jackson
Congratulations to Travis Dulaney and Will Knight (pictured below, l-r). They recently participated in the U.S. Senate Leadership Competition and did well enough to advance to the interview phase of the program, which will be in Jackson, MS. Only 15 students statewide advanced to this phase. The winners in Jackson will spend an all-expenses-paid week in Washington, D.C., and will receive a college scholarship.

SATP Test Information: The U.S. History from 1877 Subject Area Test measures not only important historical knowledge, but also real-world skills by having students read and interpret statistical data, maps, charts, and tables. The test consists of 89 multiple-choice questions. Some of the multiple-choice questions include a chart, map, or other stimulus that must be interpreted accurately in order to answer the questions correctly. Questions from the following assessment strands are distributed throughout the test: International Relations; Domestic Affairs; Geography; Economics; and Civics. The test is untimed with many allowable accommodations for students with IEP's.
