Congratulations to the students, parents, and teachers for all your hard work and dedication. Mantachie School has received the status as a High Performing School.
REMINDER: Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a permit. Certificates will be given on Thursdays. (The law has changed regarding licenses and renewals--no Certificate is required for licenses--only permits.)
The school board policy for absentees as they apply to exemptions has been changed. All absences used to determine exemption must be excused. If a student has any unexcused absences in any class, he/she cannot be exempt from that class. Also, he/she has only two days after the absence to change an unexcused absence to an excused one. Parental notes can cover a maximum of only four (4) days of absences each semester or only two (2) absences for a nine-week class.
Notice of Road Closure: Beginning Monday, February 25, 2013, Mustang Drive at the south entrance to Mantachie Attendance Center (4 way stop by the play school) will be closed daily beginning at 2:30 p.m., and remain closed until after parent pickup is concluded. Vehicles will NOT be allowed entrance at the south end or the north end. The north end will be open only for parent pickup as it is now. As the south entrance will be barricaded, there will be no check-outs for students between these times. If you need to check-out your child, it must be done before 2:30 p.m.
No unauthorized vehicles will be allowed to enter or park on school property during the secured time.
These safety measures will ensure that students are either placed on a bus or in the parent pick-up area. Also, this will be a safer way to secure the bus loading area as well as provide safe dismissal of students in the high school parking lot. Please be patient as this safety measure is initiated and understand that the safety of our students is our number one concern.

Parking spaces and information packets are available in the MHS office. Parents must read and sign the parking space application so they will be made aware of changes in parking regulations. Students are not to sign for the parents. Thank you!
