REMINDER:  Students must sign up by Wednesday of each week to receive a Certificate of Attendance to obtain a driver's license.  Certificates will be given on Thursdays.

The school board policy for absentees as they apply to exemptions has been changed.  Absences used to determine exemption must be excused.  If a student has any unexcused absentees in a class, he/she cannot be exempt from that class.  Also, he/she has only two days after the absence to change an unexcused absence to an excused one.

 

The next ACT (without a late fee) will be April 10.  The deadline is  March 5.  For more information, go to www.actstudent.org or see Mr. Credille.  The MHS school code is 251-780.

 

Football Boosters are selling cookbooks for $10 each.  They are available in the high school office and in Mrs. Angie Kirksey's room and Mrs. Rose Williams' room at the Elementary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jr. High Cheerleaders are selling can "cozies" as shown below for $3 each.  Contact Amanda Dickinson if you want to purchase any.

 

The Anchor Club is sponsoring Pop-Tops for Anchor Club.  There will be a bucket set up in the school store.  You may also give pop-tops to Beth Lindsey or Macy Riley. 

"Books Are Fun" will be in the Library through February 8.

The next GADD meeting is February 7, 2:00pm at Mantachie United Methodist Church.

The MHS Science Team will represent our school and community in the Mississippi Science and Math Tournament on February 4-5 at Mississippi College in Clinton.  Lead by sponsor Shelley Taylor, the nine team members are:  Brianna Barnes, Katlyn Carpenter, Travis Dulaney, Mariana Gomes, Anna-Clark Hall, Lee Kelso, B.J. Kent, Jake Layman, and Nick Wofford.  They will be competing against 1,500 other students throughout the state.  Scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 are available based on performance.

 

There will be a Blood Drive Wednesday Feb. 3.  See Tyler Camp to sign up.

 

There will be a financial aid workshop for parents of seniors Monday night, February 1, at 6:00 p.m., in the MHS Library.

 

There will be a junior meeting regarding prom at Kim's Diner on Monday, February 1, at 6:00.
